I am Mona Fawzy, a resident of New York, and this is a fundraiser for Mohammed Alashqar and his family in Gaza.

Hello, I’m Mohammed Alashqar.

Before October 7, my family and I were living a life full of passion and love for work. I was a very ambitious and distinguished person. I worked as an application and website designer with more than 7 years of experience. I also worked as a Project Coordinator & UX/UI Designer in more than one international organization and had a technical team of 8 people. I was in the process of establishing a technology company. After October 7, we lost everything we owned. I lost my online job and all of my work supplies. We no longer owned anything after that. Our house was completely destroyed and there were no traces of our prior life. We want to return to our life before October 7 in order to escape the difficult and harsh conditions that my family and I are living in and escape to Egypt. I am desperately trying to help my family and raise enough to provide the necessary costs for travel immediately when we are able and borders are open. Until then, we live in a small tent that does not have any of the components of a decent life. Our daily struggle for food, water, internet, and basic necessities to survive is unimaginable. For almost six months, we endured relentless hardship, pain, and destruction. Everything I once knew has been shattered by war, and the toll it has taken on my family and those around me is enormous.

We have lost our home, our possessions, and any semblance of normalcy. My family in northern Gaza is trapped in an area with no food, scarce water, and constant bombardment. The violence has robbed us of everything, even the simple pleasures of life.

I have lost dear friends and co-workers, and I have seen my family suffer in ways I never thought possible.

I am asking for your help to survive and get out of this war-torn area. Every donation brings us closer to safety and gives us a chance to rebuild our lives. Help us, so that we can continue to survive and find safety.

How the Funds Will Be Spent:

$35,000 – For transportation, coordination with intermediaries, and passport expenses to reach a safe zone

$20,000 – For temporary shelter, covering rent, utilities, and basic living costs upon arrival.

$5,000 – For immediate medical care, including doctor visits, medication, and essential treatments.
