Help Us Give Summer Every Chance
If you’ve found your way here, thank you for taking the time to read Summer’s story.
Our beautiful daughter, Summer, is just 15 years old. She should be spending her summer with friends, making memories and looking forward to the future. Instead, she’s back in hospital, facing leukemia for the third time.
Watching your child go through cancer once is something no parent should ever experience. Watching them fight it again is heartbreaking. Hearing that it has returned for a third time is something we never thought we’d have to face.
Despite everything, Summer continues to amaze us. She smiles when she can, worries more about everyone else than herself, and faces each day with a courage that inspires everyone who meets her.
The weeks and months ahead will involve long hospital stays, specialist treatment, countless appointments and time away from home. Like so many families in this position, we’re also facing the financial impact that comes with it. Travel to and from hospital, parking, meals, and lost income from taking time away from work all add up quickly.
One of the things that matters most to us is keeping our family together during this time. We want Summer’s dad and her brothers to be able to be with us as much as possible to visit, support her, and still be there for each other through the difficult days ahead. This fundraiser will help make that possible by easing some of the financial pressure that comes with balancing hospital life and family life.
We’ve created this fundraiser so our focus can stay where it belongs: on Summer and on being together as a family throughout her treatment.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards supporting Summer and our family during this journey. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
We also have one more request. If you’re between 17 and 55 and in good health, please consider joining the stem cell donor register. One person signing up today could one day save a life perhaps even Summer’s.
Thank you for every donation, every share, every message and every prayer. The kindness we’ve already been shown has reminded us that we’re not facing this alone.
With love and gratitude,
Summer’s family ❤️
