Student Celebration Trip

Hi! My name is Erica DiCarlo and I am a teacher in High Point, NC. I want my students to openly explore the world around them through our Global Studies focus here at school.

While we have been able to bring global experiences to our students but they don't always get to go to experiences.

We also want to celebrate our 8th grade students moving onward and upward to high school with experiences that they would not normaly experience. We take an annual trip to Carowinds each year using a charter bus and spend the whole day at the theme park. My students love this trip and talk about it all the time, especially as we get closer to the end of the year.

While I would love to be able to provide my students with the charter bus and their tickets, it is not possible without some help. I want my students to be able to go and experience locations that they otherwise would not be able to due to financial concerns. The funds collected here will be used to provide charter bus transportation to go to Carowinds and the entrance ticket for students, teachers and parent chaperones.

Through going on this trip, I hope to inspire my students in a STEAM design activity. Students would design their own theme park with a global focus and story to tell those who would 'visit' it.
