Steve's Ankle Fracture Surgery-Urgent!!!

Steve was working out on the stationary bicycle on February 11th and when he walked outside, he slipped and fell on the concrete. A kind passer-by called 911 and the ambulance rushed him to the ER. His medial malleolus (the ball on the inner ankle) broke off and he needs surgery or else he won't be able to walk again.  He also has a spiral fracture in his fibula near his knee when he twisted and tried to catch his fall. We were swindled with our insurance we had purchased when we moved back to Texas this past summer. Unfortunately, I figured this out in November when I received the bill for an ER visit for kidney stones, the bill was $4952, and our insurance would not pay. So, I called and fought and being upset, cancelled my insurance in December because nearly everything they had told me prior to purchasing the policy was all a lie. Now, because we don't have insurance, even with all the discounts the orthopedic surgeon and the hospital can give, we still need $11250 up front or else they won't do the surgery. If he lets his leg heal without this surgery, he will be disabled for the rest of his life. Please help us in anyway you can. He needs to have the surgery done within a week or else they will have to break his leg that is fusing the wrong way and then perform the surgery which will make it cost more too. Since we just moved here and don't have a long enough established work history, we have been declined to take out a personal loan, so this is the only way we can still get the surgery done.
