- Hi, I’m Deb and I’m a retired teacher. I started working part-time 5 years ago at The Market Place in Manning when I soon met Grace. She was a sweet, young mother who was trying to work part-time and also deal with health problems and a small child. Grace has type 1 diabetes along with other autoimmune health conditions. There are days that Grace can hardly get out of bed but still manages to foster animals for the local shelter, care for her home and family, and work. Her husband, Eric, works at our school. Their daughter, Ellie, who just turned 4, has started to have different health issues this past fall and winter. Recently, Ellie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This is draining on the family’s emotional and physical health as well as the loss of income as Grace has to spend 7-10 days at the hospital with Ellie. I would like to raise some money for the family to help out with some of the stress as they work to deal with another situation in their lives.
