Life can change in an instant. At just 28 years old, I was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, during the final stage of my pregnancy. What should have been a joyful season welcoming my baby boy into the world quickly became the beginning of the most difficult journey my family and I have ever faced.
I am a devoted wife and the proud mother of three beautiful children, ages 6, 2, and 2 months. Every day, I continue to fight with faith and determination while pursuing every available treatment option, including specialized care outside the United States. Along this journey, our family has been faced with overwhelming medical expenses, travel costs, lodging, medications, and many other necessities that insurance simply does not cover.
Funds raised will help with the many expenses associated with my treatment and recovery, including medical care and supplies, medications, transportation, gas, parking, airfare and other travel expenses, hotel or other lodging when treatment requires us to be away from home, and meals or other necessary costs associated with treatment-related travel.
Because my illness has also affected our family’s ability to work and maintain our normal routines, funds may also be used toward essential household expenses and family necessities during this time, including housing, utilities, groceries, childcare, and other basic living expenses. Donations may also help with necessary home accommodations, equipment, educational needs for our children, or other changes that make our home safer and more manageable while I undergo treatment and recovery.
We know there may be unexpected expenses throughout this journey, so funds will be used toward the needs that arise as I continue treatment and recovery and as our family navigates the challenges that come with this diagnosis.
I am inviting others to walk beside me during this season. Your generosity will help ease the financial burden of treatment so I can focus on what matters most: healing, spending precious time with my family, and continuing to fight with hope. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to accessing the care I need and reminds us that we are not walking this journey alone.
Thank you for believing in me, standing beside me, and helping hope continue to bloom.
With gratitude,
Jailah
