Stand by Kari: Stage 4 Cancer Battle

Hi everyone,

We wanted to share an update on our dear friend Kari, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 invasive breast cancer. Specifically, she has invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) — the most common type of breast cancer, which began in the milk ducts and has spread to nearby lymph nodes and her lungs.

Kari and Mike have met with her care team, and a treatment plan is in place that centers around hormone therapy the treatment is a hormone blocker targeted therapy in the pill form, which is a systemic approach to the cancer. While it can bring side effects similar to menopause. Her medical team is optimistic as this has proven to be very effective treatment. They will do everything to focus on her comfort, how her body responds and strength throughout the process.

We are hoping to raise money to assist with homeopathic treatments that will assist Kari with managing her side effects to the hormone blocker that is not often covered by insurance.
