On April 15th, our lives took an unexpected turn. My father, Carlos Ramirez, suffered a tragic fall from a two-story house all the way to the basement. The impact shattered three bones in his right leg, fractured two in his lower back, and left him with internal injuries to his chest and left hand. He underwent emergency surgeries just a day later and spent over a week in the hospital in pain recovering.

My dad isn’t just our family's rock—he's the heart and soul of everyone who knows him. A devoted husband, a loving father to me and my two younger siblings (ages 15 and 2), and a faithful member of Sagrado Corazón de Jesús for over 7 years, my dad lives to serve others. No matter what he's going through, he’s always the first to offer a helping hand.

He also runs a small family business with his older brother. Doctors say he won’t be able to work for over a year. As an immigrant with no health insurance, the mountain of medical bills keeps growing—and every single cost is out of pocket. We’re doing our best to stay strong, but we can’t do this alone.
