On June 29th Nate Rader was working outside with his mom, Jennifer Compton Gilliam, when he sustained a fall down an embankment that resulted in serious injuries to his thoracic spine. After arriving at Johnson City Medical Center it was determined that due to the extensive injury and complicated surgical needs he would be transferred to Vanderbilt. Nate has been diagnosed with a Severe Complicated Dislocation of T6/T7 Thoracic Vertebrae, rib fractures, and other minor injuries. He has lost sensation and motor function chest down and at this point it has been determined that his prognosis is unknown. He will be undergoing extensive surgery on June 30th to stabilize the dislocated vertebrae and begin his road to recovery.

Nate is a 16 year old boy, a brother, a son, a grandson, a friend, a football player for Daniel Boone High School, that is getting ready to start his Junior year. He has an entire life ahead of him to live and he deserves every opportunity to live it out to its fullest potential. 


At this point he is in the early stages of his recovery and the journey to recovery will be a long road for him and his family. He will need love, encouragement, support, and prayer through every stage. Due to the extensive injury he has sustained he and his family will acquire financial needs that include medical costs,  medical equipment, lodging, food, lost wages, and the unexpected additional costs of living. 

All donations will go to his mom, Jennifer Compton Gilliam for medical expenses, medical equipment, lodging, food, and lost wages.
