Soccer tour of a LIFETIME!

My name is Mayte Garcia. I am a junior at Montgomery High School in San Diego, California.  My hard work on the soccer field and in the classroom contributes to my emergence as a leading soccer recruit in the entire Southwest region.  I compete in Olympic national tournaments and national soccer leagues in my age group. My success in these high stakes games has allowed me to represent all of Mexico at one point in time. In addition, as a freshman at Montgomery High, I earned a starting position on the prestigious varsity soccer team. Just one year later, as a sophomore, I was voted Most Valuable Player. As a current junior with a 4.33 GPA, I have big dreams for my remaining two soccer seasons in high school and beyond into NCAA Division I college athletics.  As one of the top soccer players in the area, my talents and abilities have afforded me many special recognitions and opportunities.  My most recent opportunity involves a highly exclusive soccer tour of Europe, only available by invitation to the highest performing soccer players of my age group.  This is not only an extraordinary experience, it is also costly, leaving me to fundraise a total of $3,200: $1,400 for the cost of the tour, plus $1,500 for the cost of the plane ticket, plus spending money in just 5 months.  My ultimate dream in life is to play soccer for Harvard University and then play pro soccer in Europe before advancing my medical career as a pediatrician.  This unique opportunity that I have been presented with as a high school student combines my eagerness to tour Europe with my passion to play competitive soccer. This is a small preview as to what I dream of accomplishing in the future as a professional women’s soccer player. Although I have the skill sets to excel in the most elite and prestigious academic and athletic circles, I was not born into a family with “elite” and “prestigious” pocket books.  I come from a humble background where a trip like this is not realistic without the help of generous sponsors and community members.  No gift is too small to help turn this dream trip into a reality, and I am eternally grateful for any consideration of a donation.  I have worked very hard for this opportunity and I appreciate your willingness to read about it.  Below are my personal contact information and my coach’s contact information if you would like any more information about this European soccer tour.  Please send any gifts to my address below or to my “Go Fund Me” page.
