Hi, my name is Samira, and I’m raising funds for SMZ Abdalla Sharia Tomondo Nursery & Primary School in Zanzibar.

This is my second time visiting Zanzibar. While I love the island’s beauty and vibrant culture, what truly touches my heart are the people behind the scenes especially those who work hard every day to support their families.

During my visit, I met our tour guide, Anwar, who kindly took us to his village to visit SMZ Abdalla Sharia Tomondo Nursery & Primary School. This is a public school that serves children with disabilities, orphans, and kids from the local community. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the principal and teachers, but we quickly realized how much the school is struggling.

Many of the students don’t have desks or chairs, and must sit on the floor during class. They lack basic school supplies like notebooks, pens, and learning materials. Despite these challenges, the teachers remain incredibly dedicated — doing everything they can to make sure the children continue to learn, grow, and dream.

Coming from a similar background myself, I understand what it means to want an education but not have the resources. That’s why this cause means so much to me.

The funds raised will go directly toward:

• Buying tables and chairs for the classrooms

• Providing school supplies and learning materials

• Supporting the teachers who give their all to help these children succeed
