A few weeks ago, my family and I received the news that our lovely Mum is not very well. Yes - the C word I’m afraid. Stage 4.
We have had a rollercoaster few weeks trying to come to terms with it, sharing a whole spectrum of emotions. But we are remaining as positive as possible, and will be fighting along with her each and every step of the way.
Mum has always been a huge fan of the local charity - Lincs 2 Nepal - who educate and take care of disadvantaged children in Nepal. Mum has always talked of sponsoring a child through Lincs 2 Nepal, so we’ve decided to make that happen.
My brother Tony and I will be running the Sleaford Half Marathan on Sunday 5th May, raising money for this to be set up. Please donate anything you can! This will not only help an incredible charity, but also ensure mum keeps smiling through the journey ahead!
**UPDATE**
Incredibly, we have now raised over £2500! Not only will this go towards sponsoring a child, but Lincs2Nepal will be using funds to build a medical room at the Jeevan Jyoti school! Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to donate, and share messages with mum - the response has been just amazing. Mum has spent her life looking after others, both in her personal and professional life, so what an incredible way to spend the money raised in her honour!
