Skydiving to raise money for Rudy trust fund
Donazione protetta
Hi my name is Sarah and im doing a tandem skydive on the 12th Sept 2025 with my partner Tony and sister Sam which has been paid for by ourselves.
As my friends and family already know im absolutely petrified of heights. For example im that scared of heights that i struggle to walk close to the edge when walking over a bridge.
Therefore I have decided that I want to raise funds for a boy who I had the pleasure of looking after years ago.
Rudy inspired me with his motivation and positivity (always smiling) regardless what difficulties were thrown his way.
Raising money for Rudy will give me the motivation and strength to go through with the skydive and not change my mind about jumping once sat 7000ft in an airplane. Wish me luck.
Sam and Tony would like to help me raise funds for Rudy too so they are dedicating their skydive to Rudy trust fund, so please help us reach our goal and sponsor us.
For those who don't know Rudy, Rudy was born with multiple haemangiomas (very rare form of benign tumours filled with blood) on his face, body, and in his brain. Unfortunately, at just one week old the haemangiomas in Rudy’s brain bled and left him fighting for his life.
Rudy thankfully pulled through, but was left with considerable injury to his brain and subsequently has right-sided hemiparesis (weakness) meaning he uses a wheelchair, has very limited speach, is partially sighted and has learning disabilities. He also suffers from drug resistant epilepsy.
In November 2023 Rudy had MAJOR BRAIN SURGERY at Bristol Children’s Hospital, in an attempt to reduce the hundreds of seizures he had been getting every single day for virtually 11 years, which were getting progressively worse.
Neuro surgeons carried out a hemispherotomy corpus callosum - where they basically disconnected the left hemisphere of his brain from the right.
The 12 hour surgery went very well initially, but unfortunately Rudy had complications in his recovery and was very poorly for some months in hospital, developing hydrocephalus (raised pressure and fluid on the brain) needing 6 more operations and eventually a shunt inserted.
Rudy however battled through all of this without complaint and has not had a single seizure since his first operation! This has already made a huge difference to Rudy’s quality of life and his family’s, as well as improving his long term prognosis.
Rudy is recovering incredibly well but still needs weekly independent physiotherapy to help try and get him back to where he was physically.
Rudy’s Trust Fund has been vital in enabling his family to pay for his physiotherapy and all donations will help boost the funds required.
Any donations are really appreciated as all funds will help Rudy with his continious therapy and treatments.
Thanks
