Peter Nichols: 14th May 1962 - 8th September, 2025

Renowned clarinettist and saxophonist, Peter Nichols, established some extremely well-received workshops for students of all ages and stages at Barkham, on Exmoor, alongside his dear friends and colleagues, Juliet Bucknall and Margaret Roberts. These offered musicians from near and far the opportunity to develop their playing in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere, as well as to hear performances from world-class musicians.

We are all devastated that Peter is no longer with us and would love for these workshops to continue. On 22nd February, 2026, Juliet Bucknall and Margaret Roberts have generously offered to return to Barkham, along with Peter’s very special clarinettist-friend, Margaret Archibald, to lead a fundraising workshop and recital in Peter’s memory:
