Sidnie & Galger's House Fire Fund
Doação protegida
On November 6th at 3:38 am at the Galger family residence the mom of the house woke up, she turned on the weather network before hearing some weird cracking in the backyard. She looked out the back window out of curiosity and saw nothing but an orange glow, her families home for over 20 years was on fire. Quickly she ran to the centre of the house and started screaming "WAKE UP FIRE". Her son woke up immediately and ran downstairs to the basement suit where his sister and her fiancé lived. He swiftly kicked in the door and yelled to wake them up. He then banged on the following bedroom door to wake up his girlfriend who was sleeping in the room closest to the fire. Thankfully his girlfriend was able to run up some indoor stairs and escape. Unfortunately, when his sister, Sidnie Lee, got to her front door with his fiancé and their 2-year-old puppy Lucky they were not able to escape without passing through the fire that was quickly taking over their family home. Kevin, Sidnie's fiancé approached the door and turned to Sidnie when he realized they could not escape unscathed. She urged him to run with their dog otherwise their dog may be trapped out of fear of the fire. He ran. Lucky ran. Sidnie ran. In a moment, everything changed, she fell on her face, fire dripping onto her shoulders, lower back, left ankle, right elbow, and left side of her face. When she attempted to stand up Kevin grabbed her arm and she fell backwards hitting her head on a wall. She quickly got to her feet and ran to the front of the house. The 6 family members along with neighbours stood and watched as their family home of over 20 years burnt down. Sidnie was thrown into an ambulance and rushed to emergency. Paramedics, nurses, and doctors rushed to her side. The next 24 hours were hard to say the absolute least. Sidnie had to endure a shower to pop the 30 + blisters on her back, while an amazing team of 4 nurses followed by an excruciating 2 hours of pealing the skin off her wounds. It has been a week and she is still in the hospital. If you have ever had even the smallest burn you know how annoyingly painful they are, and trust me this one hurts. The cells on her back were burnt so initially she had no pain but thankfully as she begins to heal they are growing back, however so is the pain. The plastic surgeon originally diagnosed 2nd degree burns on her body, however now there is no blood returning to two sections of her body, this means they are 3rd degree. Sidnie will most likely have to undergo skin grafting surgery to replace these tissues on her shoulders and upper right arm. She must have bandage changes twice daily, and a special bandage called 'restore' which is made up of silver changed ever 72 hours. This will go on for the next few months. In addition to this horrible accident, Kevin and Sidnie have had to post pone their wedding which was to take place on September 2nd. 2017. Sidnie, who is very crafty, made every single decoration that was to be at the wedding. Everything this family ever had is gone. Imagine waking up one day with absolutely nothing, not even a pair of shoes. Everything is gone.
