Michelle’s Medical Expenses

As many of you know, my sister Michelle Schommer (a.k.a. “Shelly”) has been struggling for a few years with what has largely been unknown serious health issues.  Over the past year, her illness and medical issues have severely disabled her to where she could no longer work or live alone, and has been living with her daughter and son-in-law, Kali and Bob, for the past year.  Although she has been to many doctors, and they have been able to identify a number of medical issues and toxins that are making healing elusive, none has been able to help her on a path to recovery, so the search continues. 

Unfortunately the medical providers who specialize in ridding the body of the types of toxins and medical issues Shelly faces are not covered by her health insurance, so she has been paying out of pocket for these very expensive providers.  I have asked Shelly if I could set up this fundraising site, as so many of you have asked what you could do to help.  Right now the best way we can help, in addition to our love and prayers, is to assist with this financial burden she faces so she can continue to seek answers and treatment that have thus far been elusive.  She recently began seeing a new doctor who has extensive experience with similar cases, so she is hoping he may be able to address her issues as she is getting worse by the day and in critical need of a turn-around. 

As you might imagine it took a lot to talk Shelly into letting me create this site as she recognizes how so many others are facing financial strains themselves, but I assured her that this request is only for those who can provide help and are so moved to do so.  Thank you so much for your love and support of Shelly, and we are all hoping and praying she will find her path to healing soon.
