Shea's Journey: From Hospital to Healing
Donation protected
We are asking that you prayerfully consider helping out a family in need, one of the founding members of Chance Of Rain, Brian Herron, and his wife Shea. In April, Shea initially went to the emergency room for abdominal pain and vomiting, resulting in the removal of her gallbladder. A few days after returning home, the pain and nausea returned, resulting in another trip to the ER. This led to another procedure called an ERCP to clear extra blockage from her pancreatic ducts. After this procedure, it was discovered that there was massive inflammation in her pancreas, which caused massive amounts of pain and 9 more days at the hospital. Once the pain was manageable, she returned home. After a few more days at home, Shea began vomiting uncontrollably for a 24-hour period before returning to the ER. At the point of arrival, she was septic and extremely dehydrated. After being admitted, she was found to have a cyst on her pancreas and a very bad infection causing blockage that prevented food from moving from her stomach to her digestive tract. She has since had a feeding tube put in and remains at the hospital while they monitor her ability to process food.
Through this scary ordeal, along with the emotional roller coaster, they have also experienced tremendous financial hardship, both from the mounting medical bills and the lack of a second income as Shea has been unable to work for several months and her road to recovery is unknown.
