Sevylla Kicks Cancer Ass

Our beautiful sister Sevylla is fighting the big "c". After noticing enlarged lymph nodes along the neck and groin for several months, when the fatigue set in, she finally decided to seek out medical care. Within nine days, a tissue biopsy was conducted which confirmed a diagnosis of lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin's Follicular. Further bone marrow biopsy, and PET scan confirm the cancer has spread beyond the lymph nodes into the bone marrow making it stage 4.

With that comes big bills for testing and care - and there will be needs for complimentary medicine and natural therapies. Sevylla has some coverage through the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), and has received a MAP card as well (Medical Access Program), but these do not cover all of the contracted services and specialists like anaethesiology and pathology labs. To date she has received over $15,000 in bills that will not be covered by either HAAM or MAP.
