We come here with a hopeful heart, asking you to consider supporting our daughter Senna as we cannot pursue this path alone. Senna was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years of age; she is now 5 years old. Autism is a mysterious disorder with no standard path of treatment, often involving costly evaluations and therapies.
OUR JOURNEY:
As a parent of an Autistic child with unique challenges, we have tried to help her overcome her learning difficulties by providing her with a clean, natural diet, recommended supplements and ABA therapy. Her father and I attend workshops and spend countless hours educating ourselves about Autism. As loving and determined parents, we want to explore any path that may help our precious Senna reach her full potential. We believe the next critical step to accomplish this goal is to meet with specialists who excel in identifying and treating the physical and neurological obstacles that prevent Autistic children from learning and living a more typical life.
OUR GOAL
Our wish is to raise money so we can give our daughter every opportunity to "be a part of our world." The money raised would help cover the costs of the upcoming initial and follow- up appointments, as well as the costs for the blood tests, brain scans, and neurological tests.
OUR DREAM
We hope that through these intensive evaluations, we may find the "missing piece" to Senna’s puzzle. We long to experience the simple little things with her such as finding out about her school day and watching her interact with other children while making new friends. She is not able to comprehend and fully experience the simplest of concepts such as birthday parties and holiday celebrations. She has an adoring, older brother who is so funny. It would be wonderful to just be able to hear her laugh at his silly sense of humor or to just watch them play together like most brothers and sisters are able, without all the patience and guidance it takes now.
We have faith that someday Senna will let us know the reasons behind the tears that roll down her cheeks or exactly what has sparked that unbelievably precious smile.
OUR PROMISE:
We know that families rely heavily on shared information given that the Autism spectrum is so broad. It is our desire to be a resource, like so many other parents of Autistic children have been for us. We want to provide this valuable information to parents in similar situations and bring hope to all families who deal with the hardships of this disorder.
We never thought we would be using this type of forum to raise funds for our family as we pride ourselves on being self-sufficient. We are amazed at what God has entrusted us with and with hope and determination we are going to explore any means available to help our daughter. There are many success stories and we believe that Autism doesn't have to be forever!
