Send Steve Gregory's Team to the Golden Mikes

The 75th Golden Mike Awards happen on March 29th. I found out that me and my team from KFI are the recipients of some of those trophies.

I am very proud of the work we've done over the years featuring underserved communities, informing the community about cybercrime, wildfires, hate against Asians, antisemitism, LGBTQ lifestyle and school curricula, and helping close unsolved murders in Southern California. One of my passion projects has also received a trophy this year. An amazing achievement for a show that had just started - Studio 640 - which featured college journalists as panelists.

In November, iHeartMedia eliminated most all of the KFI News Department in favor of a skeletal crew. I was laid off along with three other reporters, my news director, and editors. I was there for nearly 20 years, my news director 33 years.

Fortunately, the members of my documentary and news specials team kept their jobs but, unfortunately, they don't nearly make enough to afford the Golden Mikes ceremony, the hotel accommodations, and their own trophy.
