Send Marley to Stem Cell Treatment!
Donation protected
I met Marley about 6 months ago when I started working as one of her therapists. She quickly stole my heart, as she does with every one she meets. Marley was diagnosed at a young age with Epilepsy when she had her first seizure at 6 months old. A diagnosis for Autism followed. She participates in Occupational, Physical, ABA, Speech and Music therapies on a regular basis.
A good day for Marley consists of lots of music, hugs, whistling and smiles. A bad day is full of seizures, constant sweating, not eating, hardly moving and lack of sleep.
Recently, a friend of Marley's family recommended a stem cell research treatment in Columbia that, while not yet available in the USA, has shown some incredible promise. While it may never make Marley "normal", it could significantly reduce the amount and severity of her seizures if not eliminate them completely. (8 seizures in 6 hours a few weeks ago- three seizure days in a row this past week)
After meeting with the Doctors, determining Marley as a good candidate for treatment and applying for passports- all that's left to take care of is the funding to get her there. With the communities help, Marley could be on the way to her miracle treatment by the end of 2023.
