April 19, 2018 was a day that rocked our family to the core. My mother in law was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer.
She went to the hospital with stomach pains the weekend before and that night they found a mass on her pancreas in the ER. They transferred her to Baylor in Dallas, where the next few days were a whirlwind. She underwent an Endoscopic Ultrasound and a biopsy where they determined the cancer had spread to her liver. Unfortunately since the cancer has spread to her liver, surgery is no longer an option.
Stephanie has always been the light of our family and a friend to so many. We were hesitant to start this Go Fund me, but after talking to members on her cancer care team, we were told she will not be able to continue working while she is undergoing the aggressive chemotherapy they are starting her on. She will do 12 rounds of Fulfurinox, starting this Tuesday and it will last until October 2018. During this time, since Stephanie cannot work, the money raised from this will go towards many things: medical bills, prescriptions, travel to MD Anderson, and to supplement the income her and Chad will lose from her not working and lost income for Chad as well.
People have been wonderful to Stephanie, Chad and our family during this difficult time. So many have asked and wanted to help and this is one way that will greatly help Stephanie and Chad. Lifting some of this immense financial stress would be such a blessing during this overwhelming time and would let Stephanie just focus on FIGHTING and getting better.
