Team Scott: Funding Lifesaving, Custom Cancer Treatment

Dear Friends, Family, and All Who Have Been Touched by Scott’s Life,
We’re reaching out again — to those who know Scott personally and to those hearing about him through friends and loved ones — because Scott needs our support more than ever as he walks this challenging and courageous path.

In April 2023, Scott was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic colorectal cancer. Though he felt fine at the time, tests revealed that the cancer had spread to his liver and a lymph node. His doctors initially believed his condition was inoperable and incurable — the focus would be on keeping the cancer at bay for as long as possible.
Since then, Scott has undergone:
• 8 rounds of intense chemotherapy and immunotherapy
• Bi-weekly chemo (including a continuous 3-day chemo pump)
• Countless PET scans, CT scans, MRIs, and procedures
• A port installation for ongoing infusions
And now, there’s new hope.
In March 2025, Scott’s team at the University of Miami — some of the top specialists in the field — designed a custom, multi-phase treatment plan that could offer the possibility of long-term remission, or even a cure:
• Y-90 radiotherapy (targeted radioactive beads placed directly on the liver spots)
• Liver ablation or surgery to destroy any remaining cancer spots
• A direct chemo pump into the liver artery (an advanced, rare procedure)
• Surgical removal of the main tumor
The first stage of this complex plan — Y-90 radiotherapy — begins July 15th, 2025, with a second procedure July 25th.
Scott’s team is clear: this is a bold, artistic approach, requiring some of the most skilled hands in the field. And they’re optimistic.
How You Can Help
Scott continues working as much as he can, even during treatment — coaching, teaching, contributing — because that’s who he is. But the out-of-pocket costs are significant, exceeding $1,000 a month just for medical expenses not covered by insurance. And as these treatments intensify, his ability to work consistently is uncertain.
Your contribution — no matter the size — will help Scott focus on what matters most:
- Getting the care that could save his life
- Covering essential living and medical costs during treatment and recovery
- Continuing to be the force of good, wisdom, and humor we all know and love
Please also consider sharing this campaign with anyone who knows Scott, or anyone moved by the story of someone fighting with everything he’s got.
“What makes it all endurable is ‘we’ — is us. Courage comes from others, from standing for life, the life of another, and letting go, finding self in the Unity.”
Now is our time to stand for Scott.
With deep gratitude,
The Friends of Scott (FOS)
