Help Greg, Father of 2 Fight Covid-19

My name is Brittany Shanks, I am the youngest sibling of Greg Shanks who is currently fighting Covid-19 and bilateral pneumonia on a ventilator. After several days of fighting a fluctuating fever as high as 102, Greg sought care at Essential Health urgent care on Friday, August 20th. A Covid-19 test was performed and he sent home with a suspicion of a nasty cold.

Sunday, August 22nd he returned to Essentia Health emergency room with blurred vision, severe weakness, severe dehydration, fever, changes to taste buds and was immediately admitted. At the emergency room, oxygen was administered as well as nearly a gallon and a half of IV fluids before he was transferred by ambulance to Essentia Health- St. Mary's in Duluth, MN where he is currently being cared for.

Monday, August 23rd doctors began respiratory therapy to attempt to get the fluid in his lungs moving, placed him on a CPAP machine during the night time hours, and continued to supply oxygen however, by Tuesday morning he was placed on a ventilator and is currently in critical condition.

Due to direct exposure, Greg's wife, Julia, and two children, Daqari (21) and Camden (9) are currently under quarantine and unable to work. We are asking any kind of help to assist them during this time to cover any additional medical bills, home modifications in the event of permanent health damage, school supplies for Camden, and transportation costs once the family is able to visit.
