Save Youssef: Help Him Afford Cancer Treatments
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Elizabeth Barnes and I'm a US citizen launching this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Munir and his father Youssef, a dignified man of 75 who is a father and grandfather to many and who needs our help. Kindly read his story below:
Youssef Salama
Youssef was displaced in Gaza, along with his son Munir and their large extended family, after the beginning of the occupation in October (you can read about their journey here and follow Munir’s family here). Yousef had been suffering from a platelet disorder before the war began and his condition was deteriorating due to lack of availability of the medications he needed. On top of this illness, Youssef was diagnosed with cancer on 4/7/2024 while still in Gaza.
As the family fundraised and registered to evacuate to Egypt through the Rafah crossing, Youssef’s travel was prioritized and he began chemotherapy treatment in Egypt after crossing on April 14, 2024. Click here to see the post about Youssef arriving in Egypt.
Since he has been in Egypt, Youssef’s cancer has spread throughout his body to his liver and kidneys. Youssef must begin additional treatment immediately; this treatment is administered in stages over 6 sessions. Each session costs $5,000.

Munir and his family are using funds from the original fundraising link for the catastrophic high cost of their daily survival, but now they also need to raise the money to pay for Youssef's treatment.
A special message specifically from Munir:
“I hope that every person, every brother and sister, I hope that if they donate $100, we will save Youssef. We have to save Youssef before it is too late. Youssef Grandfather and we must stand by Youssef to save him, his only hope is you to help him.”
