Save Our Home

In July of 2014 my Dad was laid off from a well paying job in the oil field industry. My Dad is the hardest working man I know. He has always worked to provide for our family. In an effort to sustain our family while he searched for a new job, which has proved extremely difficult, we liquidated his retirement mutual fund which supported us for 6 months combined with his substitute teaching income.

Dad is in the process of completing his Alternate Teacher Certification. Right now, he will continue to work as a permanent sub. My mom works as she is able too while still caring for the family and homeschooling.

During all of this, we welcomed a baby into our family. What a blessing this little guy has been, God has been faithful to provide for all of the baby’s needs. Now we have a family of ten in all, a dream beyond what my parents could’ve hoped for.

We have been thrown a huge curve ball. We may be losing our home that we have been buying for the past 4 years. We live in a five bedroom, three bath doublewide that can only be owner financed or bought outright as it is a used home.

There are details in the contract on our house that we can’t share here as we have to seek legal counsel to try to save our home. We can share that we have been given an eviction notice of October 4, 2015.

Our desire is to walk through this situation uprightly, honoring the Lord first and also treating the owner as we would want to be treated. Due to the layoff, having a new baby, and numerous vehicle repairs we have depleted every available resource we have just to survive.

We, as the kids, have all risen to the occasion and pulled together during this very challenging time. Some of us kids have even willingly contributed money that we have worked for to help the household. My parents are grateful for this. Our need is far greater than our ability to meet it but our God is able.

The Bible says that you have not because you ask not, so we are humbly asking you to help support us as you feel led. We have seen the Body of Christ accomplish great things when we come together on situations. We ask that you would join the army of our family in fighting against this.

We are open to any suggestions, options, or ideas that anyone may have. We know that God is our provider and we are standing on the foundation of the faithfulness of God. We would like to solve things amiably outside of court.

Any amount of money that comes in will be used for legal fees incurred in this process and most importantly to secure housing, either here (which is our desire), or somewhere else.

Psalm 16:6, “The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”
