Hi, our names are Alexandra and Mike. We've created this GoFundMe to support Save The Stray Dogs of Samos. We've recently visited this dog rescue and sanctuary and felt the urgent need to help them.
Background
Spyros had an olive tree field in Karlovasi, Samos, Greece that he converted into a dog rescue and sanctuary in 2008 when he realized there was a desperate need to help the stray dogs. There are over 120 dogs, many of which have been found in garbage bins, with only Spyros and one volunteer, Chrisoula, running the shelter on a daily basis. There are a handful of other volunteers who help run their social media accounts to help bring awareness and find these dogs a home.

These donations will go directly to helping them with these immediate concerns:
- Dog food for all the shelter dogs and the street dog/cat feeding stations (costs 50 euros a day)
- Tick/flea medication for all the dogs (2,000 euros)
- Land accommodations which would include fencing, cement and other materials to pave another fenced-in area for additional dogs, as well as create dog houses and shelter areas as they are overcapacity (minimum 3,000 euros)
- Current fencing and shelters need updating as the two large doors to enter the shelter have been knocked down by wind multiple times and need rebuilding (3,000 euros)
- Vaccinations and blood work (130 euros per dog annually)
- Puppy vaccinations (45 euro per puppy)
- Deworming and parasite treatment (100 euro per dog annually)
- Emergency funds for medical aid and surgeries (3,000 euro annually)
- Miscellaneous items such as pee pads, wipes, garbage bags, etc. needed for everyday use (1,000 euro annually)
