A Family’s American Dream
Over 54 years ago, Anna and Guido, along with their four small children, came to New York from Italy chasing the American Dream. With hard work, love, and faith, they opened a little pizzeria in Hell’s Kitchen called Mama Mia 44 SW.
From the very beginning, it wasn’t just about the food — it was about family and community. When local schoolchildren came in without money, Anna and Guido gave them pizza anyway, because they believed no one should ever go hungry.
Carrying on the Legacy
That same spirit of kindness and generosity lives on today with Connie, their daughter, who carries on her parents’ mission. Connie and her family now are your family — serving everyone with love, compassion, and a warm meal, whether they can pay or not.
For decades, Mama Mia 44 SW has been a place where everyone feels at home — neighbors, families, and visitors from all over the world.
Why We Need Your Help
Now, after serving the Hell’s Kitchen community for more than half a century, Mama Mia 44 SW is in danger of closing its doors. The challenges of recent years — rising costs, back rent, taxes, and loans — have left us struggling to survive.
Your donations will help us:
• Pay back rent and overdue taxes
• Cover essential operating costs
• Keep our dedicated staff employed
• Continue serving free meals to those in need
From Our Family to Yours
Every dollar makes a difference, and every share helps spread the word. If Mama Mia 44 SW has ever been a part of your life — if you’ve shared a meal here, celebrated a milestone, or just felt the warmth of our family — please help us continue this incredible story.
Thank you for helping us keep the dream alive.
