Save Bollington Tip

Cheshire East Council are proposing to mothball Bollington Tip. They are making this decision without the full facts at their disposal. Fly tipping will increase and recycling rates will go down. Residents will have to use Macclesfield Tip which is on the far side of Macclesfield. That Tip is already congested at busy times. The proposed closure of Bollington & Poynton Tip will exacerbate this situation. This will mean a 40 minute round trip from Bollington. This will mean more pollution and more congestion. We think the usage figures for Bollington are wrong and that it is used by residents from a much wider area than just Bollington. We want to test this assumption by collecting data and doing proper research into the real impact of the proposed closure. Please help us.
