On November 14, 2025, our world was completely changed when our father, Santosh Kumar Patra, was suddenly and tragically taken from us in a devastating hit-and-run accident. He was crossing as a pedestrian when his life was brutally cut short. The grief of losing him in such a manner is shocking, and we are struggling to process this heavy loss.

My father was a kind man. He was always known to strike up a conversation with people he did not even know, and he loved sharing stories. Deep in his heart, he was always family-oriented and wanted the best for us. He supported our home financially and emotionally, and now losing him suddenly has caused heartbreak and financial strain on top of mourning. His loss leaves a void that can never be filled, but we cherish the beautiful memories he made with us.

As we navigate the emotional weight of this tragedy, we are faced with the sudden and unexpected financial burden. The funeral cost is roughly $7.3k, and additional expenses include time off work, bills, and arranging final services. The funds raised will be used entirely to cover these expenses.
