Make a Memory with The Core at Corby Cube Run Fund

I have taken on the challenge of a 5k run to support Hampton by Hilton Corby to raise money in aid of Make a Memory with CORBY CUBE THEATRE TRUST.

I have been overweight for most of my life which has caused an abundance of health conditions with type 1 diabetes, high blood pressure, high Cholesterol along with other illness because of my diabetes. In early 2020 I ruptured my Achillies tendon while stepping out of my car at work which put me in a position of not even being able to put my foot on the ground for 6 weeks, and then the long road to recovery. My recovery was hampered by covid as no physio face to face appointments were being undertaken and we were all told to stay at home. I was using a crutch to get around for well over 12 months and really struggling with my weight.

At the end of March 2021, I had a moment and thought about what I wanted out of my life and what was my big picture goal. Having decided I wanted to live and be there for the ones I love, to make memories with them for both me, and them. So, I started my new life journey which has not been easy, but through a controlled healthy diet and increased walking (mainly around the shops) I had within 18 months lost a massive 9 stone.

My life journey took the next step in December 2022 with 6lbs of excess skin removal, mainly from my tummy. I worked hard to lose weight through management of my diet as I have never been into exercise, which is another reason why I ended up at over 21 stone in March 2021 at the start of my life journey.

I wanted to support a charity to help others make memories, and especially for those who are going through difficult times. So, I have personally taken on the challenge to run a 5k in November, which is no easy feat for someone who has never run before. I have started training using the couch to 5k with a goal of running the Holdenby House 5k Trail Run on November 19.

Life is a fantastic experience we all get to live and I am committed to living my best life and supporting charities who do amazing work to help others.

I am excited to raise money for the theatre who provides support and fund's families who are encounter financial challenges to make a memory and see the wonderful Cinderella show. This show takes place in December at The Core at The Corby Cube and is fully funded by charitable donations. Children will be able to see a show for a truly unforgettable experience and really makes a child Christmas something truly special and memorable.

Any support however small will really make a difference to a young child and their families.
