A little introduction about myself and what this account is going to be used for…

I’m going to be RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON 2024!

I’m Sophie, I’m a Second Year Adult Nursing student Bournemouth University. I’m also part of Southampton University Officer Training Corps whom I take part in Cross country for! I’ve never been a long distance runner, I used to be a sprinter when I was younger and i’ve only recently got into running, so this is going to be an extremely big challenge for me!

Salisbury District Stars Appeal

The Stars Appeal is the charity for Salisbury District Hospital.

“Every day the Stars Appeal helps hundreds of patients across all wards and departments at Salisbury District Hospital and supports the NHS staff who care for them.”

I’ve decided to choose this charity as it’s quite close to home as this hospital is also my local hospital. I have also been given the opportunity to carry out my Placements at SDH, where I have already been very lucky to work alongside some incredible staff, whom have shaped me into the Student Nurse that I am Today. Whilst on placement I was amazed on how much of the hospitals resources were funded by the Stars Appeal Charity and without it the Hospital wouldn’t be able to cope!
