Help Our Mother Fight for Her Life After Cardiac Arrest
Our family is reaching out with heavy hearts during an unimaginably difficult time.
Our beloved mother Elida Pano is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at William Osler Hospital in Etobicoke, Ontario, after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest caused by severe pneumonia.
Her heart stopped for five long minutes, but thanks to the incredible efforts of the medical team and immediate CPR, her life was saved. Since then, she has remained in the ICU for over a week. Although sedation was stopped more than two days ago, she is still largely unresponsive because of hypoxic brain injury, the result of her brain being deprived of oxygen during the arrest.
My mother came to Canada as a visitor from Albania, and sadly her travel insurance no longer covers her care. Without coverage, the costs of ICU treatment are overwhelming, far beyond what our family can manage alone.
We are humbly asking for your help.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward her hospital bills and ongoing care, giving her the best possible chance at recovery and easing the heavy financial burden on our family.
If you are unable to donate, we kindly ask you to keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and help us by sharing this campaign with others who may be able to support us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story and for standing with us in this time of crisis.
With deep gratitude,
Kledia Spahia (daughter)
