Help Marissa Fight Breast Cancer

Donazione protetta

On February 8th, 2022, my sweet sister-in-law, Marissa, was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. She was told that her cancer is very aggressive and needs to be treated just as aggressively. The treatment regimen involves five different chemotherapy drugs over the next 6 months' time, followed by surgery and 5 and 1/2 weeks of radiation. This came as a complete surprise to her and the whole family as there is no history or "reasoning" as to why this occurred. No one was prepared for this unexpected news. With her background as an RN at an inpatient oncology hospital, this is only the beginning. From her helping patients with cancer to now becoming a patient herself is a very emotional time for her and everyone.

Due to upcoming appointments and treatments, she is unable to work at this time. Her and her long-time boyfriend Nate, whom she shares a 4-year-old son with, are now living in one income. Though her work, colleagues, and the whole family have been supportive of her current situation, our resources are limited. So we are asking for your help. Whether it's through meal, donation (links below), or any kind of support. Every help we can get during this tough time would be appreciated. But most importantly, keep Marissa, Nate, and Finn in your prayers.

Sincerely,
The Vervoren & Watermolen Family
