RVFD Eric Merrill Family Fund

Don protégé
The United Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 5050, including Rio Verde Fire District, is mourning the tragic loss of Deputy Chief Eric Merrill of the Rio Verde Fire District. Our prayers and deepest sympathies are with the Merrill family as they navigate through this incredibly tough time.

Chief Merrill, a military veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, had just retired from Rio Verde Fire District 2 weeks prior, after serving for 40 years throughout Maricopa County in the Fire and EMS service.

Eric Merrill was driving with his son Steven Merrill in Buckeye, AZ at the time of the accident that ultimately killed Eric Merrill, leaving his son to recover in the hospital without his father by his side.

Eric Merrill is survived by with wife Deana Merrill, his son Steven Merrill (also injured in the accident), and daughter.

The Merrill family is in need of assistance with the funeral, memorial service and burial of Eric Merrill. The family is also in need of medical assistance for Eric Merrill's son Steven Merrill, who was injured in the car accident that took his father's life. All funds raised through the RVFD Eric Merrill Family Fund will be donated directly to Eric Merrill's surviving immediate family to support their financial needs during this tragic time.

Please keep the Merrill family, their loved ones, friends, and fire brothers & sisters in your prayers during this most difficult time. We thank you for your generosity and support!
