11 Years. 26.2 Miles. One Mission: Live Like Roo.

My name is Tony Konidaris, and this October 12th, I’ll be running my 11th consecutive Chicago Marathon — all in support of the Live Like Roo Foundation, an organization that provides emotional and financial support to families whose pets are facing a cancer diagnosis.

Over the past decade, thanks to so many generous friends, family, and fellow animal lovers, we’ve been able to raise over $70,000 to help pets and their people when they need it most. Every mile, every blister, every training run — it’s all for them.

Live Like Roo has continued to grow, and the funds we raise together now help support incredible programs like:

Buddy’s Heroes Fund – assisting veterans whose pets are battling cancer, helping them cover the cost of treatment and care.

The Titan Fund – providing support for service animals diagnosed with cancer, ensuring the heroes who serve others are cared for in their time of need.

These stories — of courage, love, and second chances — are what keep me running year after year. Every donation, big or small, helps families stay together longer and gives pets the chance to fight with dignity and hope.

If you’ve ever loved a pet, you know they give us everything. This is my way of giving something back.
