In the early hours of August 22nd, Rowan was the victim of a senseless act of violence that left him fighting for his life.

For those of us who know and love Rowan, it is difficult to put into words how heartbreaking and terrifying the last few days have been. One moment, life was moving along as normal, and the next, Rowan was in the hospital facing injuries no one should ever have to endure.

Rowan has already been through major 13 hour surgery and has a long and uncertain road ahead of him. While we are incredibly grateful that he survived and that he is showing positive signs of recovery, there is still so much ahead.. More medical treatment, rehabilitation, healing, and undoubtedly a lot of physical and emotional recovery.

I am starting this fundraiser because Rowan and his family who are so near and dear to my heart, should be able to put all of their energy into getting him better, without having to carry the additional stress of worrying about the financial impact of everything that has happened.

The reality is that recovery doesn't end when someone leaves the hospital. There will be appointments, treatments, time away from work, travel, everyday expenses, and countless unexpected costs along the way. We want to help give Rowan the time and space he needs to heal and remind him that he doesn't have to face this alone.

If you know Rowan, you know the kind of person he is. He is someone's son, someone's brother, someone's best friend, someone's uncle, someone's coworker, and someone deeply loved by so many people. He has an entire community standing behind him now, just as he has been there for the people in his life.
