Rousseau Volunteer FD Truck Fundraiser

Donation protected
As you know, the historic flooding in Eastern Kentucky greatly impacted many people in the communities in the area. Those of us working on recovery efforts in the area have witnessed firsthand the impact of the efforts of donors, both small and large. The outpouring of support has been phenomenal. However, we understand that as time marches on and the seasons change, new needs will certainly make themselves known. This is a complex issue that requires time, resources and dedicated individuals who are passionate about creating a solution.
We have determined that there is a specific need for a new truck for the Rousseau Volunteer Fire Department. Currently, Chief Greg Wilson is utilizing his personal vehicle for everything from food/gift/appliance deliveries to emergency runs. Below is a better idea of the current vehicle situation:

Current Vehicle
  • 2005 Ford F150 4x4
  • Estimated $14,000 motor repair
  • $2200 in fuel since Jul 29, 2022
  • 4800 estimated miles since Jul 29, 2022
  • The only ‘working’ service vehicle aside from the firetruck
  • Utilized for fire runs as well as EMS runs for more rural homes/areas
  • While out of service, the chief is using his personal vehicle without reimbursement

In order to ensure that the Rousseau Volunteer Fire Department is able to protect the community they serve, we are fundraising to acquire a Ford F150 Special Service Vehicle.
