Heal Rose's heart through teamwork!

Hi my name is Zoey and I'm fundraising for Rose Washington, aka Coach Rose. For those of you that have not heard, Rose is going through some yet-to-be-fully diagnosed medical issues and has been unable to work. She is currently back in the hospital at this time (02/09/2023.) Rose was my first ever beach volleyball coach, and she continued with me for 7 years until I decided it was no longer my passion. She is someone that I hold very close to my heart because, to me, she is far more than just a coach. Rose became what I would call my “second mama”. We built a strong relationship on and off the court, and she always took care of me like her own. A core memory with Rose that will always make me smile, is the day that we played a tournament together. I was at a point in volleyball where I felt stuck and lost confidence in my skills. Rose noticed my struggle and decided to sign us up for a women’s tournament. All day long she patiently coached me through rough conditions, and eventually we ended up taking first place in women’s open! I am forever grateful for the impact she has made on my life.

Here is her medical story as far as I understand:

For the past year, Rose has been seemingly going through some thyroid issues which caused her to lose approximately 30lbs in a year along with extreme fatigue. As we all know, she did not have 30lbs to lose. A couple weeks ago she became violently ill with possibly a stomach virus for a few days which landed her in the hospital with kidney failure, dehydration. Fortunately, they were able to immediately treat her kidneys and they did not sustain damage. She was kept overnight and sadly suffered a ( cardiac arrest) V-tach in the morning of January 30th. Fortunately, her family was there, they alerted the nurses, and Rose had to be defibrillated. She was diagnosed with LongQT, they placed an internal defibrillator in her chest, and released her for further endocrinology studies since her levels were still off. Two days later Rose was rushed back to the hospital because her defibrillator kicked on more than once. She is currently back in the hospital for more study and hopefully a full diagnosis.

I started this fund in hopes that our community can come together and help Rose and her family, as we all know, bills don't care that you are sick and can't work.

My goal is to help pay Rose's bills until she can get back on her feet and crush the Realty world in the same way she beautifully managed to coach us wild teens with the patience of a saint.
