Hello all! As many of you know back in 2013 Olyvia was a passenger in a bad car accident that left her with titanium rods in her back. She had to learn to walk again at 15 years old. For the past few months she has been struggling to find answers for her chronic back pain, worrying that something was wrong with the hardware in her spine. She's been to multiple doctors and hospitals in the Lehigh Valley, and they all have just told her there's nothing wrong and sent her to pain management. The pain she has been experiencing is crippling and most days she's stuck resting on the couch. Having a rambunctious 2 year old makes this even harder, trying to take care of Calvin while pushing through the pain.
After so many dead ends she finally found answers when Nick took her to the ER in Philadelphia. The more detailed scans the doctors in Philly took showed that Olyvia has a ruptured membrane which led to a tethered spinal cord, exposed nerves, and showed that the initial surgery for her lumbar spinal fusion never fused. The doctor in Philly is confident he can perform a surgery to repair this all, but it's going to be a long road. She's going to have to have doctor visits in Philly weekly and physical therapy. This is taking a toll on them financially since Olyvia is out of work now, and Nick and family members have been taking off work to take her to and from Philly. She has applied for disability but that's a long process, so I wanted to start this to help them in the mean time.
Any amount helps them with gas, grocery, hotel, Calvin supplies, etc.. We are all SO happy that Olyvia finally has answers. Now begins her road to recovery so she can get back to a normal, pain free life with Nick and Calvin. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you all for your support and love for Olyvia and her family, it's greatly appreciated and continues to brighten all of our days!
