For those of you who don’t know, my father has been awaiting a transplant for many years now.

We got the call that he may have an opportunity about a month ago, so he went down to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NYC where he was awaiting a viable heart and liver donor. We got the call yesterday that donor organs have been located.

This morning at approximately 3 AM, he went in for his procedure, which took until late afternoon. He’s currently in recovery ICU, intubated and heavily sedated.

While insurance seems to be covering all of his medical bills, I am just asking for any help towards fuel, food, and housing, and any other expenses that my mom may have resting on her shoulders currently, or to come. Even as my dad recovers, they will need to be local to the hospital to attend many appointments and tests. Any little bit helps and I would just like to take any worry that my parents might have off their shoulders. They are always willing to help others in any way that they can, so I just want to pay it back to them.
