Help Richie Afford Top Surgery

Hello!

I’m Richie, I’ve been transitioning for the past 5 years. In those 4 out of 5 years I've been on a waiting list for top surgery. It has been pushed back three times. My surgeon has gone on maternity leave, and won’t be back until 2026. Which is a long time to wait as my surgery was supposed to be this year.

I can’t wait any longer. The emotional weight is far too much for me as of late. It’s hard looking in the mirror and seeing yourself but with a body that doesn’t work for your mind. Taking hormones has benefited me dramatically, but there’s only so much hormones can do.

I’m absolutely terrified I won’t get the chance to get top surgery in Alberta with how the government is treating the Trans community.

Please help me get my top surgery - it would mean the entire world to me.

In regards to how the money will be used - I’ll be using 100% of it toward my top surgery. If it’s not fully needed then I will see how GoFundMe can return funds to everyone who donated. If that’s unavailable, I would like to potentially donate the money to help someone in a similar position as me.
