Hello. I’m trying to raise funds to fix my teeth. I spent 15 years fighting an opioid addiction. I did extensive damage to my teeth. I always had a job. I still raised a family (hid everything from my kids) and stayed with my wife of 27 years now (she’s the most amazing person I know). I never got assistance—medical, financial, anything. I always had insurance through work.

I got sober in Nov of 2018 and have been clean ever since.

But I stayed working and supporting a family. So only ever had whatever was offered for insurance.

Over the years, I’d have some discomfort with my teeth, but insurance only ever covered non-cosmetic procedures. Then I started having issues with them and had some pulled. Then some just fell out. Now I have only one front tooth and damaged rear teeth. I am embarrassed to smile or even speak around people who don’t know me. Especially at work. I am a project manager of my company out in the field I’m the face of my company and want to be taken serious.

I am now 51. I have bought a house. Both children are thriving on their own. My oldest has our first grandbaby. We are empty nesters. I just took a new job, one that I’ve worked really hard to be ready for.

I don’t have a lot. We get by just barely. So I’m doing this with hopes of raising money to do this procedure.

I just want to feel normal again. I’ve never been in a better place in my personal life.

The only problem is funding. I left my consultation this morning and cried in my car. $10,000 for the cheapest option of dentures. Insurance only covers $1,500. I tried to finance and was only offered $2,500. I have never ever entertained using this for anything other than donating to others' needs.

Well, now I am in need and I am curious if this is even gonna get noticed. I promise to send everyone a pic of my new shiny smile someday.

I hope everyone has a great day and has comfort in life.
