Help Us Rebuild After a Tree Destroyed Our Home During Hurricane Milton
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Crystal Bonner, my family and I are from Sumter County, Florida. On October 9, 2024, Our world was turned upside down when Hurricane Milton tore through our community. The storm’s powerful winds uprooted a massive tree that came crashing down on my childhood home, where we currently live with our three young boys. The damage is devastating, and our house may now be considered a total loss.
The roof is severely damaged, and large sections of the house are uninhabitable. On top of the structural damage, we’ve lost all of our perishable food due to an extended power outage, and we’re quickly running out of funds to cover the mounting daily expenses—such as temporary housing, food, and basic necessities—to keep things as normal as possible for our boys during this difficult time.
While we’re incredibly thankful that everyone is safe, the financial burden is overwhelming. Unfortunately, insurance won’t cover the full extent of the damage and the costs of starting over. That’s why we’re reaching out for your help.
The funds raised will go towards:
• Structural repairs or rebuilding costs for our home
• Replacing lost belongings and essentials
• Temporary housing and food expenses
• Creating some stability for our children as we navigate this challenging time
Anything you can contribute will make a world of difference. Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing our story would mean so much to us. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support as we work to rebuild and restore our home.
With gratitude,
The Bonner Family
