One Blow After Another — Help a Family Hold On to Hope

Hi friends,

My son Jordan and his family have had an unimaginably difficult year—one that no young family should have to face. It's had a huge impact on them and I'm hoping we can come together and give them some relief. Jordan, and his wife, Heidi are the type of people that will give everything they can to those in need and I am hoping they can feel that love and support from friends, family and community in their own time of need.

Last March, Jordan was hit by a drunk driver while on his way to pick up one of their daughter from volleyball practice. The suspect was fleeing from police at the time and ran through an intersection, hitting my son and totalling their car — the one they used to travel together as a family of 7. Due to financial constraints, they had recently lowered their coverage to the state minimum, so their insurance wouldn't cover it. Because the driver was in a stolen Enterprise rental car, Enterprise denied responsibility. The suspect did not have any personal insurance and the police haven't been helpful in helping them get restitution.

This left Jordan and his wife paying monthly on a car they no longer have—a devastating financial blow. Still, they have persevered and somehow kept going. They have maintained a positive attitude despite this setback.

Then, at the start of this year, tragedy struck again. Jordan hit black ice on a curve, rolled their second vehicle, and barely made it out before it completely caved in. Miraculously, he survived with "minor injuries". They used a small insurance payout from that crash to buy another used vehicle large enough for their family.

But just two weeks later, the engine failed. The private seller had misrepresented the vehicle, claiming it had a recently replaced engine—which wasn’t true. Now, they’re back at square one: stuck making payments on 2 undriveable cars, no reliable family vehicle, and no easy path to justice without taking on an exhausting legal battle.

They’ve been relying on rideshares to get to work and keep life moving for their five kids. It’s been draining emotionally, physically, and financially—but they’ve never stopped showing up for their family.

That’s why I’m reaching out.

If we can get just 800 people to give $10, we’ll reach our $8,000 goal to:

  • Replace the engine = $6200
  • Pay for additional medical bills not covered by insurance after being in 2 accidents in a short period of time = $1800

And if they are fortunate enough to exceed the goal it will help with:
  • Ongoing loan payments on the original auto
  • Rideshare costs while waiting for vehicle to be fixed

Whether you’re in a position to give or not, sharing their story is a huge help. Every act of kindness gets us closer to helping this incredible family move forward.

Thank you so much for your love, support, and prayers.

With deep gratitude,
