Replanting an Endangered Ecosystem for Wildlife
Donation protected
My name is Dave from Daintree Life. We are fundraising to plant 6200 trees for stage one (of four stages) of a 33,000-tree paperbark and rainforest revegetation project in the wet tropics of far north Queensland, Australia. The land was originally cleared for sugar cane, but we are putting back a substantial planting to form an outreach corridor to connect with existing mangroves on the coast.
The project runs across four distinct ecosystems - three of which are listed as endangered. Six thousand two hundred indigenous rainforest trees will be planted and maintained to produce a greatly enhanced ecosystem, which will benefit a myriad of bird species and critical food resources for endangered Spectacled flying-foxes.
Every $12.50 will plant and maintain one of these trees, and every donation of $100 or more will receive a personalised certificate via email. Every single tree counts.
