My name is Sarah Cormier and I’m the older sister of my sibling, Ollie. Several years ago, Ollie suffered a back protrusion, and over time the injury has worsened. For the past two months, they have been living with chronic, debilitating pain that has made it impossible for them to work.

Being on the opposite side of the country from most of our family has made this even harder for Ollie. Facing chronic pain and financial strain while far from loved ones has added an emotional weight to an already overwhelming situation.

Ollie has begun the process of applying for income assistance, but these applications take time to be processed and approved. Until that support comes through, they are struggling to cover even their most basic needs.

We’re raising funds to help Ollie stay afloat during this difficult period, specifically to cover their room rent, which is $415 per month, as well as food and essential living costs over the next couple of months while Ollie heals and waits for support.

As most of you know, it can be very difficult asking for help. We do not take this lightly.
