Remi the Dog Needs Our Help!
Doação protegida
Hi, my name is Steven and I am raising funds for a lady in need. More accurately, for her dog Remi. Let me tell you why.
My first cat was a barn cat that was being neglected. I had never even liked cats until she won my heart (boy did she change my mind). I named her Friendly. So I catnaped her in the middle of the night and took her to a vet. She got better with treatment and became my best pal. She nursed me through a long illness. But the neglect she had experienced caught up to her and her health took a turn and the vet bills piled up. I wasn't making a lot of money at the time. Nothing has ever made me feel so helpless as when it seemed I couldn't provide Friendly, my best companion, with the veterinary care she needed, and I promised then that if I ever found someone else in similar circumstances, I would do what I could to help out.
A listener to my radio show is in that situation. Helen (not her real name) is a woman in difficult times. She is beyond broke, using food banks, and is being evicted from her apartment. None of this is because she's lazy or irresponsible. It's a perfect storm of health issues leading to financial disaster.
Helen has a Cane Corso dog named Remi. Remi has an infection that has spread rapidly. The veterinarian has quoted $600 for care and meds. I've asked to raise $800 because vet bills are always higher than they quote - as anyone with a four-legged family member knows.
Jaimie is looking for a new home for Remi, but he needs the medical care now. besides the health crisis, how will he find a home who will take him while he is sick? The vet said he can recover fully with treatment if it happens quickly.
Any of you who share your life or have shared your life with a dog or cat know the anguish you feel when one of them gets seriously ill. Imagine not being able to give them the urgent care they needed. It's horrible.
So I am reaching out to ask you to help Remi. If I could pay the full amount I would. I know times are tough for many and if you can't help out, that's okay. But if you have even $5 to contribute, every bit will help get toward the total. If the bill comes to less than $800 I will donate the balance to a no-kill shelter.
I know there are a lot of people who pull scams on platforms like this and I am sure every one of them tells you they are not one of those people. I hope those of you who know me know that I wouldn't perpetrate a hoax by tugging on your heartstrings.
Or if you are a vet or know a vet who would look at Remi and provide a second opinion, that is also eagerly welcomed.
Thank tou for whatever you are able to contribute.
