Help Remi’s IVDD surgery and recovery

Remi is a 6 yr old Boykin Spaniel. Paul got him when we were stationed in Wisconsin and he is everything Paul ever wanted in a hunting companion. He is smart, Intuitive, and motivated. His high energy and work ethic are what led us here. X-rays show that this was something that happened over a long period of time from the high impact lifestyle Remi leads. When he’s not hunting for duck, turkey, grouse, timber doodle, he’s catching frisbees and wrestling with dogs twice his size.

On Christmas Eve morning we woke to Remi dragging his hind legs, unable to use them. Over the Christmas Holliday he went to the emergency vet 3 times and then three more times to his regular vet during the week. The medications and the laser treatments had no affect and he will need surgery if he hopes to regain the use of his back legs. Although a wheelchair may be in his future, we want to try everything we can.

Remi is Paul’s best friend. They have hunted 3 Duty Stations together. Many of Paul’s friends and soldiers have hunted with them. Remi is Paul’s support emotionally, his ever willing companion, and copilot. Your help, however small, is appreciated more than you can imagine. Thank you
