My name is Tyler, Katie was my baby sister I'm trying to help my family as we just suffered a tragic unexpected loss of my baby sister Katie she was only 26 years old when she was murdered in Oshawa, on Sunday (March 12th 2023).

Katie was born Feb 27 th 1997 to an amazing well rounded family. Katie was the youngest in her family leaving behind her nephew, niece, older brother and parents. Katie had just recently graduated with her Mental Health and Addictions degree as outreach was her passion, Katie was loved by many in our community and across the Durham Region.

It wasn't a rare sight to see Katie volunteering at our local homeless kitchens and local animal shelters. Katie loved kids/animals and would do whatever she could to help any of her friends and family. Katie was the most caring young woman I've ever had the pleasure to love. Katie was always the life of the party and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with friends and family. Katie's loss will be felt by many.

Katie was a beautiful energetic young lady whose life was taken way too early, We are now left with so many questions and what if's. We will never get to see Katie walk down the aisle at her wedding or have children of her own. She was talented and loved the outdoors and anything art related.

We're hoping to have a bench made that friends and family can sit at to remember Katie, we're hoping to have it located at her favourite spot in Port Perry's Palmer Park.
